about

These tracks are a response to the ISOLATE/CREATE project, where a bunch of great bands uploaded multitrack files of some of their songs for remix/reinterpretation during the COVID-19 pandemic.

I decided to do two remixes of the same Converge song: one that embraced the energy and aggression of the original ("Angor Arrow"), and one that intentionally went in the opposite direction ("Absent Arrow"). I only used samples from the uploaded audio—heavily manipulated/effected, sure, but no other instruments, virtual or real.

Thanks to ISOLATE/CREATE and Converge for making these files available. Thanks to Converge, also, for including a glockenspiel part on this song. That was a pretty crucial sample.
